App
What operating systems is the app available for?
The STOP Defend & Send app is available for Android and iOS devices. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Is a registration required?
You need an account to use the STOP app. You can sign up quickly and easily using your Google or Apple account.
How many SMS are included when I buy STOP?
When you buy STOP Defend and Send, you get 60 SMS as a free credit.
Are there any additional costs for using the app?
The app is basically free to use. In order to notify your contacts in an emergency, you will receive a starting credit of 60 text messages when you purchase the device. One SMS per notification and contact is then deducted from the credit.
Additional SMS can be purchased later in the app. The following packages are currently available:
- 15 SMS for € 4,99
- 30 SMS for € 7,99
- 90 SMS for € 12,99
You can check your balance at any time in the app dashboard. Before starting a recording (Guard Mode), the app will also inform you if you have enough credit for any notifications..
Can I use STOP without the app?
Yes, using the app is not mandatory. However, the app adds essential features to STOP, such as location tracking and alerting your contacts in an emergency.
Can I delete location recordings?
The location recordings are associated with your STOP account and can be deleted through the app at any time.
How many emergency contacts can I add?
You can add up to three emergency contacts. These contacts will be notified in case of an emergency and alerted if necessary.
Does the Guard Mode or location tracking also work in the background?
Yes, the Guard Mode works even when the app is running in the background. Therefore, you can move the app to the background after you have activated Guard Mode without any problems. The location data will continue to be collected, and the connection with the STOP device remains intact. However, it is important that you do not completely close the app. If you completely exit the app, the location recording will be interrupted.
Please also be aware of the power saving features of different operating systems. If an application is running in the background for an extended period of time and the phone is not being used, these power saving measures may cause the tracking to stop. To avoid this, you should either actively use your phone (for example, by using other applications) or regularly open the STOP application.
The app will also trigger a reminder notification after a period of inactivity to ensure that recording continues. This notification acts as a reminder to open the app to ensure uninterrupted location tracking.

How is the alarm triggered?
To activate the alarm, press and hold the alarm button for three seconds. This will activate the audible alarm and the flashing light. The alarm can be silenced by double-clicking.
How can I turn off the alarm?
Double press the alarm button to deactivate the alarm and flashing light.
How loud is the alarm?
STOP emits an alarm of up to 125 dB. This is comparable to the sound of a jackhammer or a rock concert.
How bright is the flash?
The flash intensity is 700 lux.
Is the STOP device protected against water?
STOP Defend & Send has IPX4 certification. This means that the silicone clip is protected against splashing water.
Are there different sizes of STOP?
There is only one universal size that is suitable for small and large hands.
What is in the packaging?
The packaging includes the charging cable and operating instructions, as well as the STOP device.
How do I unpair STOP from my smartphone?
If you plan to lend your STOP device to friends or family, it is important to disconnect it from your smartphone first. Proceed as follows:
- Remove the device from the STOP App:: Open the Dashboard in the STOP app and look for the box that shows the connection status. Tap Disconnect to remove the device from the app.
- Cancel pairing on the STOP device: Press the power button twice in quick succession to unpair directly from the device. It will automatically switch to pairing mode, ready to connect to another device.
- Cancel pairing on smartphone (optional): Navigate to the Bluetooth settings on your phone. Look for “STOP” and remove the device to end the connection.
